La Guardia is a very nice quaint village on the western coast of Margarita's main part (not on Macanao). The houses in La Guardia are painted real colorfully! The little town has a nice protected bay for fishing boats and a beach.
The small beach at this bay is ideal for kids and swimming because of the protected bay - there are no high waves. That is why the village's kids like it so well!
But, this beach does not have any beach services, such as chairs or restaurants. It is not frequented by tourists.
We just passed it by on our way to the 'rocky part' of La Guardia beach. See, the La Guardia beach basically continues from this sandy bay as a rocky beach for miles and miles towards La Restinga beach.
This other part is basically a narrow strip of land connecting the main part of Margarita to the Macanao part. The strip is filled with beautiful seashells and rocks rounded by the waves. We have a separate photo gallery of this rocky part of La Guardia beach.
